Kids identify short and long vowel sounds in the words on the page and color each section accordingly, how fun! The sneaky-e pattern is used for the long vowel words.
Maybe next I’ll buy some holiday sweaters and earrings… haha!
Here’s another freebie I made this week. I recently heard about the 6 Signposts strategy for close reading. It comes from the book Notice and Note: Strategies for Close Reading. I think it’s really challenging to help kids know how to find the most important details in a book This strategy is really helpful. It gives kids 6 important features or moments to look for in fiction books. These “signposts” help lead them to the theme of the book. You can download this anchor chart for FREE!
